Kallar Kahar trauma centre to be made functional soon: Salman

 

Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has directed the concerned officers to take necessary steps on immediate basis to make Trauma Centre Kallar Kahar operational according to the timeline. He said that early completion of trauma centre is essential to provide in time medical treatment to the injured due to traffic accidents on the motorway.

He stated this while chairing a meeting to review the progress to operationalise the trauma centre Kallar Kahar, district Chakwal, in his office here on Friday. Provincial Minister Housing, Communication and Works Department, Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan especially attended the meeting. Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan, DCO Chakwal Mahmood Javed Bhatti, Additional Secretary Health (Development) Dr. Faisal Zahoor, EDO Health Chakwal Dr Sultan Alamgir and other officers concerned were also present in the meeting.

The EDO Health informed that the process of appointment of Medical Superintendent, general surgeon, neurosurgeon and anesthetist has been started and these posts would be filled soon. Dr Sultan Alamgir informed that government has approved SNE of 120 posts for the trauma centre. The EDO Health informed that installation of CT scan machine would also be completed subject to the setting up 200 KV transformer for smooth supply of electricity for this purpose. Rafique directed the DCO Chakwal to take immediate measures for the installation of transformer with the coordination of WAPDA authorities.

Provincial Minister Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan said that construction of trauma centre at Kallar Kahar is a big facility provided by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the local people. He said that this trauma centre would be a great source for the treatment of the wounded persons due to traffic accidents on the motorway.
