8 people die in rain-related incidents across country

At least eight people died due to rain across the country, state media reported on Thursday.

In Lower Dir, two children were killed and three others were wounded when their roof caved in due to rain at agency headquarters, Timergarah.

In another incident, six people were killed when their houses collapsed due to heavy rain in Peshawar and Chitral.

Intermittent rain is continuing in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

A spokesperson of met office told Online that the highest rainfall of ninety eight millimetre was recorded in Dir followed by fifty mm in Saidu Sharif.

The hilly areas continue to receive snowfall with two feet of snow recorded in Malam Jabba and one foot in Murree and Galiyat.

The Margalla hills in Islamabad also received snowfall.The current rain spell will have salutary impact on the wheat crop.

Meanwhile, there are reports of landslides at different parts of the Neelum, Jehlum and Leepa vallies.
