The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Friday sealed two illegal slaughter houses after seizing around 320 kilogram substandard meat.
A PFA team led by Director Ayesha Mumtaz raided the two slaughter houses in Lakhodair area and arrested three persons who were busy butchering dairy animals illegally. The raiding party also found the meat not fit for human consumption.
The accused could not present any certificate regarding health and condition of the animals that were slaughtered at the house.
The team handed over the arrested persons, Waseem, Shafeeq and Tanvir to Baghbanpura police.
The accused stated that they had been involved in the business for a long time. They used to sell substandard meat in Sirajpura market.
