Opposition members in the Senate on Thursday demanded that the benefit of reduction in petroleum prices should be passed on to the consumers.
They pointed out that reduction in oil prices would also have salutary impact on other products and services. They also claimed that there was no justification for collection of Rs 101 billion from gas consumers when government was already collecting Gas Infrastructure Development Cess.

They said the country was in bad shape when PML-N took over and it effected and all round improvement in almost every sphere of life.
Those who spoke on the motions included Saeed Ghani, Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, Nauman Wazir, Jehanzeb Jamaldini, Kamil Ali Agha, Javed Abbasi, Mir Kabir, Farhatullah Babar, Usman Saifullah, Azam Khan Swati, Nasreen Jalil, Mohsin Khan Leghari, Karim Ahmad Khawaja, Sardar Azam Khan Musakhel, Sehar Kamran, Mohsin Aziz, Mian Attique Ahmad Shaikh, Chaudhary Tanvir Hussain, Khalida Parveen, Taj Haider, Sitara Ayaz and Abdul Qayyum.
