Killer reveals getting paid Rs 2,000 for a life in city

Target killer Javed Punjabi revealed during the investigation on Thursday that he was paid Rs 2,000 for a killing by his commander.

The culprit made shocking revelations during the interrogation. He used to target the people who refused to pay extortion money. He was provided with names of his targets by gang war commander named Riyasat.

The Punjabi’s group included Jameel Changa, Sultan Agha, Kamran Kamu, Fazal Dada among 16 persons. The target killer was apprehended from Purana Golimar around a month ago. In one of the incidents, Punjabi and his two accomplices – Salman and Zahid alias Haddi – abducted one Khuram Hazar and tortured him. The body was later thrown in Lyari’s lake.

According to investigation authorities, huge cache of weapons was recovered after raiding a site in Khawaja Ghareeb Colony on Punjabi’s information. Earlier in January, Lyari gang war leader Uzair Baloch was remanded to Rangers for 90-day custody. In his video message, Baloch said the government completely backed People’s Aman Committee and used it for political benefits.

Baloch was arrested as he was trying to enter Karachi from the city’s suburbs. He had fled the country after the Karachi operation had begun. It was previously reported that Baloch had fled to Dubai and a team of the criminal investigation department (CID) officers was later sent there to arrest him. The team stayed in Dubai for a month but could not succeed due to some legal complications.
