Dozens of sewerage lines are overflowing in various area of federal capital including the secretariat area while the civic agency has failed to fix the flowing gutters.
Due to the negligence of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) filth ridden water stands for many days in secretariats corridors as several gutter cover have been stolen.
Stolen gutter covers in a very high security zone is alarming for the security agencies.
Ministries buildings look like islands surrounded by filthy water. In some area dead cats and dogs causing bad smell.
Other parts of the federal capital face similar condition; several complaints about poor sewerage system and open gutters have been reported.
Sewerage lines in the Federal capital sector G-6, G-7, G-8, G-9, F6, I8 and I9 are overflowing.
“The overflowing gutters and damaged sewerage lines have made us miserable to go in the mosque throw the street,” said Mohammad Saleem, a resident of G9.
The residents of the I-8 Aftab Ahmad said that “we take up this issue in the CDA complaint office and they assured us to solve these issues on emergency basis. We fear that this situation is favourable for dengue outbreak”.
CDA’s spokesman Ramzan Sajid said that current management of the authority had decided to replace the sewerage lines. “Our teams are ready to fix the problem” he said.
Our department is working on the overall development of the city and last year not a single dengue patient came from the Islamabad. This was result of our good working system, he said.
