Trader killing: APAT warns KP govt of protest

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran (APAT) Central General Secretary Naeem Mir Wednesday warned of staging protest for indefinite period against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, if the killers of KP APAT President Halim Jan were not arrested within 24 hours.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, the APAT leader demanded deployment of Rangers in KP in line with the Karachi operations to maintain law and order in the province.

Naeem Mir said that the KP government failed to manage affairs of the province thus belying the tall claims of PTI Chairman Imran Khan that KP was number one province in good governance.

The bad performance of KP Police in the province could be gauged by the fact that a renowned trader leader was killed in daylight in Kissa Khwani Bazaar, an area having narrow lanes, which make rescue of the killers very difficult, he added.

β€œIt is unfortunate that the KP government had failed to protect the traders and their property and business in the province,” he said and asserted that the federal government had provided funds to streamline administrative issues but these funds were wasted in corruption.

Naeem Mir also lamented that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had not uttered a single word to console with the family or condemn the gruesome murder of Halim Jan.
