The Punjab Assembly Wednesday discussed agricultural policies of the provincial government and urged the government to provide more facilities to the farmers.
The session of the Punjab Assembly chaired by Speaker Rana Iqbal commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
MPA Tariq Bajwa from treasury bench said that CPR should be declared pay-order to facilitate the sugarcane growers and urged all members of the assembly to find out practical solution to protect the rights of sugarcane growers.
MPA Asif Bajwa said that farmers were not enjoying agriculture subsidised policies of the government in a proper way so the government should focus on it.
Treasury bench members Arshad Malik, Sheikh Alauddin, Masood Alam, Amjad Ali Javaid, Suraiya Naseem and Opposition MPAs Ahsan Riaz Fatyana, Dr Waseem Akhtar, Dr Nausheen Hamid, Nabila Hakim Ali Siddique Khan took part in the discussion.
Speech of the agriculture minister and answer question session was postponed. The session was adjourned till 10:00 am on Thursday
