Seventeen percent sales tax on petroleum products was Monday challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) by the Justice Party (JP).
Petitioner Azhar Saddique Advocate in his writ petition informed the court that incumbent government of PML-N has is determined not to give any relief to the masses and adopted the attitude of exploiting.
“The government is violating the constitution of the country and rules and regulations of the OGRA are being bypassed by not decreasing the prices of petroleum when their price are on lowest level in international market”, the petitioner added.
He prayed to the court to declare the 17% sales tax on petroleum products null and void.
