Dasti also among 50 booked for interfering in anti-encroachment drive
The district police on Saturday declared Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Muzaffargarh Jamshid Dasti a proclaimed offender in a case pertaining to threatening and mishandling a hospital’s staff. Later, the police registered a case against Dasti, and 50 other people, on the charge of interfering in the anti-encroachment drive.
However, the FIR has been sealed.
Social Security Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Mubashar on Jan 6 reported to the police that the MNA and his 25 companions had hurled threats and then thrown him out of his office. The MNA was reportedly offended over the Jan 5 protest of hospital staff against shortage of medics.
The MNA shut down the hospital and issued threats of severe consequence to the staff.
The police have written a letter to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for arresting the MNA. They said that Jamshed Dasti was also an absconder in three cases of murder and extortion.
