Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said on Saturday that the Orange Line Train Project is a package of disaster and destruction for the masses.
He held the government of PML-N responsible for the deaths of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees who died when an unidentified person opened fire during a protest demonstration.
Talking to media personnel, he said that it was regrettable to see the employees of PIA who were only fighting for their rights being gunned down for it. He said that it was the worst example of the government’s tyranny, adding that it was the right of every citizen to hold a protest demonstration and stand up for his or her rights. He said that the rulers were attempting to suppress the voice of the people, but that they would never succeed.
Criticising the Orange Line Train Project of the Punjab government, Elahi said that people were dying of hunger and the rulers were busy constructing the Orange Line. Elahi said that this was the project of PML-Q which was stolen by the Punjab government. He said that the train had to be run underground but that people were being displaced because of the project.
He said that PML-Q had always served the people and worked for their prosperity and raised a voice for them in the parliament.
Expressing sympathy with the employees of PIA, Elahi assured that they would raise their voice in the parliament for their rights.
He said that the PML-Q had always protested against anti-people policies of the government including price hikes and power outages.
