Cyber gang swindling people in the name of BISP, Youth Scheme arrested

Law enforcement agencies including police on Saturday said that they had busted a gang involved in cyber crime and apprehended three suspects during a raid at a hideout in Chak 132/10-R in Jahanian near Multan.

The raiding team also said that 15 laptops, 150 mobile phones, hundreds of SIMs and other gadgets were recovered from their possession. Dozens of suspects also escaped the raid. According to the law enforcement agencies, the gang was involved in swindling people in the name of Benazir Income Support Programme, Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme and PM’s Relief Package for Farmers by making telephone calls and sending SMS messages to people.

The two suspected gang members were identified as Mushtaq Gujjar and Mukhtiar Gujjar.

The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
