Sharif contacts affectees of Metro train at payment centres

Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif directly contacted through modern technology the payment centres set up for payment of compensation for Orange Line Metro Train project and also addressed a meeting in this regard at Civil Secretariat through video link.

He through modern technology inquired from landowners, ministers, assembly members and administration present at three payment centres simultaneously regarding the pace of payment. The landowners thanked Chief Minister Sharif for evolving a speedy and transparent system for payment of compensation and giving best rates for their property. Talking to the Chief Minister, the landowners said that under his leadership, they are getting best rates for their property and his political and administrative team is also extending all out cooperation.

Sharif directly contacted payment centers at Engineering University, Thokar Niaz Baig and Government College Ground, Jain Mandar at the same time through modern technology and reviewed the payment process. He appreciated his political and administrative team for continuing the process of payment of compensation to the landowners in spite of being the holiday of Solidarity Day with Kashmiris and said that it was a national service and a form of worship to work for brethren and sisters. The chief minister was informed in a briefing that a sum of Rs 1 billion has been paid as compensation during one day and payment of more than Rs 2 billion has been made so far. Moreover, bank counters have also been set at the payment centres for facilitating landowners. The chief minister directed to further accelerate the process of payment and said that all landowners will be paid compensation within next few days and no landowner will remain deprived. He said that all demands of justice will be met in this regard.

The chief minister directed that all necessary facilities should be available to the landowners at payment centres and ministers, assembly members and administrative officers should continue to visit payment centres so that no one should face any problem.

He said that Orange Line Metro Train is a splendid project and its opponents have no concern with progress and prosperity of the common man. Sharif said that the opponents of the public welfare projects will face disappointment while Pakistan will move ahead and no conspiracy of such elements will succeed. The chief minister said the Punjab government has promoted the new culture of transparency, standard and speed in the implementation of the development projects and Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project will also be a unique example in this regard and poor people will benefit from this project. Provincial Minister Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Members Provincial Assembly Waheed Gul, Bao Akhtar, Malik Habib and Commissioner Lahore Division were present at Engineering University payment centre while Provincial Minister Bilal Yassin, Member Provincial Assembly Majid Zahoor, DCO Lahore at Government College Ground Jain Mandar payment centre and Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Member National Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq, Member Provincial Assembly Saif ul Malook and others at Thokar Niaz Baig payment centre. Advisor Kh Salman Rafiq, Kh. Ahmed Hassan, MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority and other officials participated in the meeting through video link from Civil Secretariat while DG LDA was present at Model Town.
