Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to mark Kashmir Day on Friday.
The nation observed a minute of silence to express solidarity and honor the freedom fighters of Kashmir on February 5, which the Interior Ministry as a public holiday across the country. In separate addresses, President Mamnoon Hussain and the PM vowed to continue Pakistan’s support to the struggle of the people of Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported.
“All Indian brutalities and atrocities have failed to deter the people of Kashmir from their fight for freedom from Indian oppression.”
The premier is expected to address a joint session of the AJK assembly.
