Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will give an extensive briefing in the Senate about ostensible cases against Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz on February 10.
The minister has sought detailed record of the cases registered against Aziz by the incumbent government and previous government led by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to be presented to the Upper House during its February 10 session.
During the previous session, top PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan and other opposition parties scathingly criticised the government and Chaudhry Nisar for not arresting Lal Masjid’s controversial chief despite several cases pending against him at Aabpara police station for his anti-state activities.
