Kashmir Solidarity Day observed in KP, FATA with national enthusiasm

 

Like elsewhere in the country, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA on Friday observed the Kashmir Solidarity Day with national enthusiasm and renewed their pledge and unwavering support to Kashmiris till they get their legitimate right of self-determination.

They vowed to continue moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for their legitimate right to self-determination and liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian repression.

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for progress and prosperity of Pakistan, eternal peace of martyrs of Kashmir’s struggle and liberation of Muslim occupied territories including the held Kashmir.

February 5 was declared public holiday by the KP government as a mark of respect to express solidarity with Kashmir brethren and public and private institutions besides schools, colleges and universities were remained close.

The civil society, political, cultural and educational organisations arranged special programmes, seminars, talk shows, walks, and symposiums and declamation contests in connection with this important day.

KP Teachers Association, Jamiat Talba-e-Islam, Kashmiris and students organisations held rallies and arranged seminars in connection with the day. In KP and FATA, people from all walks of life came out on the streets and roads in support of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and to protest against Indian’s forces atrocities and human rights violations against Kashmiri people.

The political parties and civil society organizations also took out rallies in Peshawar and in all other cities and towns of KP and FATA. In Peshawar, big public rallies were taken out from premises of Mohabat Khan Mosque under aegis of Jumaat e Islami and JUI-F Secretariat led by Khairul Bashir attended by political, religious workers besides Kashmiris in large number to express solidarity with Kashmiris brothers.

The participants were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans “Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan, Kashmir is the part of Pakistan” and demanded UN to implement its resolution on Kashmir forthwith.

The speakers said Kashmir issue was the unfinished agenda of the partition of South Asian subcontinent and durable peace of the region was linked with its solution as per the wishes of Kashmiris people.

They said the people of Kashmir have never accepted India’s illegal occupation and the day was not far away when Kashmiris will succeed in their legitimate struggle.

They said father of the Nation Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had declared Kashmir ‘jugular vein’ of Pakistan, and nobody could isolate it.

Radio Pakistan, PTV besides other media channels are broadcasting and telecasting special programs to mark the day in a befitting manner whereas the local newspapers brought out special supplements highlighting sacrifices of the Kashmir freedom struggle.
