The PIA Joint Action Committee (JAC) head Captain Sohail Baloch met Sindh Rangers DG Major General Bilal Akbar at the Rangers Headquarters.

According to sources, the JAC leader apprised the DG Rangers of protest day chaos and killing of two PIA protesters in firing by law enforcers. Major Bilal Akbar, sources said, assured the PIA workers leader that investigation into the killing of protesters was underway and soon the killers would be apprehended.

He said whosoever found involved in the incident would be brought to justice.

The JAC leader also informed the DG Rangers about ‘sudden disappearance’ of four PIA workers who were among the protesters. The latter said that Rangers had not arrested any worker, however, this matter would also be investigated.

The four men belonged to the People’s Unity, including its president Hidayatullah Khan and senior vice president Zameer Chandio. He also told Major Akbar that the PIA protesters were wearing masks during the protest to protect themselves from tear gas. JAC leader Sohail Baloch had openly criticised Rangers for opening fire on protesters on February 2 at Karachi’s Jinnah Terminal leading to death of two employees.
