Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday lashed out at the Leader of Opposition Khursheed Shah, terming his address to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) workers “shameful and despicable”.
Talking to the media here outside the Punjab Assembly, Sanaullah said the government was ready to give parliamentary guarantee to ensure that the PIA employees would not be expelled. Some employees were harming the department through black-mailing, he alleged.
He said Khursheed Shah’s address to the PIA employees in Islamabad on Wednesday was ’shameful and insulting’.
It may be added that Khursheed Shah, in his address, had compared the present democratic government with Zia-ul-Haq’s dictatorship, which according to Rana Sanaullah, was not appropriate.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had probably spoke against the federal government because of dispelling the perception of a ‘friendly opposition’, he added.
The minister assured an investigation into firing on PIA protesters in Karachi. The security personnel were probing the whole incident, he added.
He also criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan for what he called inciting people against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.
