Pakistan has reiterated that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
During the weekly news briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said that the Kashmir Solidarity Day being observed on February 5 necessitated that the dispute should be resolved at the earliest.
He said Pakistan always condemned gross human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
To a query, Khalilullah said that no date had yet been fixed for foreign secretaries-level talks between Pakistan and India.
About the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, the spokesman said that Afghan soil was used in the attack, and added Pakistan was committed to eliminating terrorism.
“Back of the terrorists has been broken and action is being taken against Taliban without any discrimination. Terrorist networks have been dismantled,” he added.
Khalilullah said that successes achieved in North Waziristan during the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation had been acknowledged by the international community. “The government is following a policy of promoting good relations with all neighbours including India.”
