Development has a cost that people have to pay in order to gain the benefits in the long term. Orange Line Metro is such a project that has been facing criticism from the very first day it was announced till date. The critics always find some way to criticise this mega project and create hurdles in the way of its completion. Most recently, another issue that has gained public attention is the problems that property owners are facing. The government of Punjab is facing brutal criticism over this issue although it’s taking every step to compensate the loss of people and ensuring that people get their due rights.
In this regard, the Punjab government has allocated the heavy amount of Rs20 billion. Chief Minister and higher officials of the government are taking keen interest in this matter. An Operation by the name of “One Window Operation” with an assigned task of payment to the owners on urgent basis has been launched. After the scrutiny of the original documents, checks will be granted on the spot and within next few days, the amount in cash will be paid. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has showed his concerns and will monitor the transparency in the process.
Metro Train project will provide the modern means of transportation to the people belonging to middle and lower class. The people who are criticizing this project are not just enemies of development but also the enemies of motherland. There is a hope that projects like Orange Line Metro will prove to be very beneficial for the people in the near future.
