Federal government has decided to construct a Motorway project MM3 to link Pakistan administrated part of the Himalayan region with the rest of the country, it was revealed on Thursday.
According to details a motorway project from Muzaffarabad to Bhimber, which will link the districts of Azad Kashmir with Punjab connecting Bhimber, Ponch, Sandhoti, Kotli, Mirpur and Muzarabad.
A local news agency quoted sources as saying that MM3’s feasibility report had been completed in which the cost of project had been estimated at around Rs 22 billion.
Source said that the National Highway Authority (NHA) had prepared the feasibility of this project. According to the feasibility report, the MM3 project will be completed in two years. Ministry of Communications will soon forward a preliminary report to Ministry of Planning and Development in this regard, the source added.
Sources further said that Ministry of Finance would release the payment for the project in the next meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
The project is expected to be announced by the prime minister during his visit to Azad Kashmir.
