Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was behaving like a ‘democratic dictatorship’ and vowed to resist ‘anti-people steps’ of the government.

The PML-N leaders had been nurtured by a military dictator and their government was even worse than that of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s as they were using  force against people and registering fake cases, he added..

The PTI chief was talking to reporters after inaugurating an international standard zoo here.

Imran Khan condemned the killing of three employees of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Karachi and said the government should have remove workers’ reservations and apprehensions over privatization instead of using force against them..

“They (rulers) have always resorted to violence against the masses. They are in the habit of killing innocent people,” he alleged.

To a question, Imran Khan said unemployment was on the rise in the country and the present rulers had even broken the record of former President Asif Ali Zardari in this regard.

It may be added that Imran had earlier announced that his party would launch a nationwide protest campaign against government policies on February 6.

Talking about the PIA’s privatisation, Imran demanded that the government should address the concerns of the employees and introduce reforms instead of dismissing workers. “We did not dismiss the health workers in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa but introduced reforms in the health sector despite opposition.”

He alleged that the PML-N had always opted for dubious privatisation deals in the past and asked the government to convince the people of the benefits of privatisation instead of bulldozing legislation in the Parliament.

Criticising the tax amnesty scheme, the PTI Chairman said the government had exempted the rich from paying taxes but the poor were forced to pay new taxes. “During the PPP government tax on diesel was 22% but now it is 98%, otherwise its price would have been Rs38 per litre.”

  1. It is really disgusting to hear this man talking like this. He is totally confused in words and actions. He is lost in whatever he has on his small brain. He lacks political wisdom and cannot foresee an oppertunity for people’s good. In fact he seems to be now more in muk muka mode than PPPZ.
