Girls college evacuated in Peshawar following bomb rumour

The Municipal Inter-College for Girls in Peshawar on Wednesday was evacuated after a hoax regarding presence of a suspect carrying bomb in the institution.

According to sources, the college administration summoned security forces following the rumour and announced holiday for the students. The police personnel cordoned off the entire area and after thorough search of the premises declared it clear.

A number of panicked parents gathered outside the college.

District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan, who also visited the college, said the information regarding the bomb was a hoax. The security officers, however, have been ordered to remain alert, he added.
