Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting here on Tuesday which reviewed in detail the pace of construction of Orange Line Metro Train project and the process of payment of compensation to the affectees.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the biggest package of payment of compensation in the history has been announced for the affectees of Orange Line Metro Train project and every affectee will be paid full compensation and demands of justice will be fulfilled. Sharif issued instructions to complete payment of compensation within next few days and said that he will personally monitor the whole process. He said that those criticising the biggest project in transport sector in Pakistan are in fact opposing the common man and progress of the country. He said that metro train is the project of the whole Pakistan and upon its completion, millions of people will benefit from modern travelling facilities daily.
The chief minister said that like metro bus and other projects, metro train project will also be an example of high quality and transparency. He said that people will avail modern transport facilities with the completion of revolutionary project of metro train. Sharif directed to immediately set up separate camps for men and women for the payment of compensation to the affectees and said that all necessary steps should be taken to facilitate the affectees in these camps. He said that transport should also be arranged for the affectees for visiting the camps and payment process should be continued round the clock.
