Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Asad Umar on Monday said that it was now again time to stage a sit-in at D-Chowk of the Federal Capital to protest the government for not providing relief to the people in petroleum prices.
Talking to the media here, he said it was regrettable that the federal government had reduced petroleum prices nominally against its prices in international market.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had failed to provide due relief to the people, he added.
He said that the government was charging tax per liter of Rs 61 on kerosene and Rs 52 on petrol while the millionaires were given relief a week before, in the name of tax amnesty.
The government might get appreciation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), but providing due relief to the people was unjustified, he added.
