Currently, anti influenza vaccines are being obtained from the district health department Rawalpindi to treat patients admitted to Islamabad hospitals including PIMS and Polyclinic.

Attendants and family members of many such patients said that they were being asked to arrange vaccines from the Rawalpindi health department.

According to Rawalpindi District Health Officer Dr Rafiq Ahmad that they were providing vaccines to patients being treated in Islamabad hospitals despite the fact that it was not their responsibility. He said that they were ready to provide vaccines to Islamabad hospitals in bulk if a request was made.
