National Assembly Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah has decided to give the government a tough time, and has made up his mind that he will highlight corruption scandals found within the incumbent government.
Sources told Online that the opposition leader called an emergency meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Wednesday, and directed the Auditor General of Pakistan to attend the meeting. The meeting will review the payment of Rs 480 billion to the head of circular debt. The secretary water and power and secretary finance have also been summoned for the meeting.
According to sources, the alleged corruption worth Rs 50 billion in the construction of Benazir Bhutto International Airport will also be discussed in the emergency session of the Public Accounts Committee. A parliamentary committee has submitted its investigation report about the construction of the new airport and highlighted embezzlement.
The recent meeting is quite important in the current situation as more corruption cases against the government are expected to come out.
