A station house officer was shot and killed in Defence area of Lahore on Saturday, police said.
According to police, SHO of Shadman police station Tajammul Hussain Butt was attacked in Defence Phase 7 by unknown dacoits.
The SHO was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to sources, the SHO put up a resistance after which robbers opened firing and fled away.
A heavy contingent of police reached the scene, cordoned off the whole area and launched a search operation.
