A memorandum of understanding was signed between Pakistan Railways and a private company at Railways Headquarters in Lahore on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique hoped that it would improve performance of Pakistan Railways and bring more revenue to it. He said private investment in Pakistan Railways would be welcomed as it would create new job opportunities.
The railways minister said Pakistan Railways was taking various measures for improving its economic condition. He said revenue earned from the freight sector would be used for improving passenger trains.
