An aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed after it developed a technical glitch near Sargodha on Saturday.
According to details, a PAF drone was on a routine flight in northern area of Sargodha when it developed a mechanical fault and crashed in the fields.
PAF officials and police rushed to the crash site after the incident and cordoned off the area.
One of Pakistan‘s few female fighter jet pilots was killed in a training crash in November last year. Flying Officer Marium Mukhtiar and Squadron Leader Saqib Abbasi were flying a training mission on an FT-7PG aircraft and encountered a “serious in-flight emergency” the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said in a statement following the martyrdom of Flying Officer Marium.
The crash took place in Kundian, Mianwali district, about 175 kilometres (109 miles) southwest of Islamabad. The male officer, Abbasi, had sustained minor injuries in the crash.
