Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the petition seeking disqualification of KP assembly member, Javed Akbar and directed trial court to give decision without prejudice.
A three-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Mushir Alam took up the case for hearing Friday.
The counsel for Javed Akbar took the plea that tribunal and SC disqualified his client for holding fake degree. The court in its verdict did not ask for initiating criminal proceedings. Trial court started criminal proceedings without court observation. Order may please be issued for stopping criminal proceedings and nullifying disqualification of his client, he prayed.
Justice Mushir Alam remarked “SC has not given any observation against your client in its decision. Trial court should give decision without being prejudiced by SC decision.”
