PPP has ‘options’ if PML-N does not accept mandate, says Bilawal

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday condemned the highhandedness of the Punjab government to snatch the party’s mandate in South Punjab, warning the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that PPP could consider its options if its mandate was not accepted.

The PPP chairman said this during a telephonic conversation with PPP South Punjab President Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood. The former Punjab governor complained to the party chief that Punjab police and the local administration were targeting PPP workers and forcing the party’s elected LG representatives to withdraw from their seats in a bid to deprive PPP of it majority in local councils.

Bilawal took strong notice of the intimidation of the elected councilors and urged his party’s supporters to remain defiant against the PML-N’s strong-arm tactics.
