According to the head of customs Fahad Dhufallah al-Otaibi, the man was stopped at customs on his way back from Bahrain on the 16-mile-long King Fahd Causeway linking the two Gulf countries.
Inspectors searched the man and found bottles of alcohol attached with adhesive tapes to his upper and lower legs and hidden by the man’s traditional long white robe.
Alcohol is strictly prohibited in Saudi Arabia and the penalty includes a prison sentence and flogging if caught.
