Punjab govt seals several edu institutes for following security SOPs

 

After deadly attack on Bacha Khan University varsity and terrorists warning of further attacks, the Punjab government sealed several educational institutes for lacking proper security arrangements.

Sargodha medical college has been sealed after inspection of security team.

Despite the issuance of clear warnings to all the educational institutions by the Punjab government, most of the private and government schools still lack security guards and CCTV cameras in various districts of the province.

The district administration has issued show cause notices to seven private schools in Sialkot district over poor security arrangements.

It issued the show-cause notices during raids on several schools in Sialkot.

District officials during the raids expressed grave concern over the poor security arrangements. They advised the management of schools to improve their security arrangements as per the SOPs given by the Punjab government in a bid to avert any untoward incidents.

Earlier, the Balochistan government had announced special force to protect educational institutes while KP administration has decided to issue free weapons’ licences for teachers.

The Balochistan government has decided to establish a special force to be deployed at university campuses across the province in the aftermath of the brutal attack on the Bacha Khan University.

On other hand KP government has decided to issue free weapons’ licences for government educational institutes’ employees. The provincial home ministry confirmed free licences would be issued after an official shows the necessary authority letter.
