Foggy weather badly hampers flights, train operations

Several international and domestic flights were delayed while five international flights were canceled besides hampering train operations due to prolonged foggy weather conditions in the federal capital, sources of CAA flight operations and Pakistan Railways said.

Foggy weather disrupted trains operations across the country as almost all the trains are running well behind their respective schedules.

“All the trains operating from various stations across the country witnessed delayed between two to three hours,” PR sources said.

An official of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that due to dense fog around 10 intentional.

According to information available at website of CAA, PIA flights cancelled included Pk-292 operating between Muscat-Islamabad, Pk-234 Dhabi-Islamabad and Pk-452 Sakardu-Islamabad.

Other two inbound flights of international airlines were also canceled, QR-632 from Doha-Islamabad and PA-231 from Abu-Dhabi-Islamabad.

Dense fog shuts down Pindi-Peshawar Motorway:

Motorway M-1 was closed for all kind of traffic from Peshawar to Burhan interchange due to thick fog and zero visibility on Monday morning.

According to Motorway police, Peshawar bound traffic was diverted to G T Road from Burhan Interchange. Motorway officials appealed to the citizens to avoid travel at night on Motorway and use the G T Road besides keeping fog headlights of their vehicles on and observe control over speed.
