An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday reissued non-bailable arrest warrants of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and 23 other party leaders and workers in the hate speech case.
The investigation officer presented a report to the court which said that the MQM chief was in London while other nominated members were in Pakistan but none had been arrested. The officer requested the court to grant more time for arrest of the accused. The court granted time to the authorities.
A case had been registered against MQM chief Altaf Hussain for inciting violence in his provocative speeches against national institutions. Other MQM leaders the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for included Dr Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool Siddique and Haider Abbas Rizvi.
