The administration of Lal Majid has evolved a strategy in case of detention of its controversial cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz.
Maulana Abdul Aziz is in hot waters these days with a case registered against him under section 506 in Aabpara Police Station while demands for his arrest have been made even in the Upper House of the parliament. According to sources, he could be taken into custody for 90 days.
The news agency quoted sources as saying that Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani had provided all the evidence against Maulana Abdul Aziz having links with international terrorist outfit “Daesh” to Ministry of the Interior.
After the submission of this evidence, the cleric’s arrest is possible at any time and keeping that in view the administration of Lal Masjid has informed its followers across the country to be ready for aggressive reaction.
The news agency quoted an Islamabad district administration official as saying that the arrest itself was not an issue.
However, the Ministry of Interior has to issue the arrest order which was delayed due to illness of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
“The district administration has not received an order for his detention so far, but the Maulana can be arrested in a case registered again him in Aabpara Police Station,” he said.
