PEF schools directed to beef up security

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has asked the school partners to ensure adopting proper security measures in their schools for the protection and safety of students and their teachers.

These directions have been issued in line with the orders of the Punjab government for arranging proper security of the schools. A circular, in this regard was issued by the PEF Director (FAS) here on Sunday.

According o the circular, the boundary wall of the school should be barbed with eight-feet height. Only one gate should be used for entry and exit, and all other gates should remain closed. There should be proper security guard at the main gate along with a metal detector. Schools are further directed to install closed circuit TV cameras inside and outside with 24 hours recording facility. All the visitors should be properly checked upon and their entry should be recorded in the guests’ register.

The schools should also conspicuously place telephone numbers of institutions concerned including Rescue 1122 along with briefing the students and teachers about their use, the circular further says.
