Enrolment in public schools increases

With the government’s plan to raise the standard of all the schools and colleges of the federal capital, it has been acknowledged that enrolment of students has increased in public sector schools.

Talking to APP here, the Director General of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Moinuddin Ahmed Wani said that the standard of Islamabad’s schools and colleges has improved by the Prime Minister’s education reforms programme.

Teachers training programme, he said has been launched to train the all public sector teachers of the Islamabad’s educational institutions aiming at provision of quality education to the students.

DG FDE referring to the opening ceremony of a school in the capital and said that the principal of the school agreed that after the renovation of the school building the number of the students has increased.

He also shed light on the next programmes of the government including monitoring all the schools, colleges and their performance on regular basis.

He assured that the recruitment of the teaching staff would be done purely on merit in the future.

It is pertinent to note that the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2015 disclosed recently that after starting of the education reforms programme by PML-N government, the enrolment of students has been increased in public sector and even students from private sector were shifting to government schools.
