Three Kasur child abuse suspects walk free over lack of evidence

The anti terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore acquitted three suspects of the Kasur child abuse case on Friday on the basis of lack of evidence.

The attorney of the three suspects Ashfaq, Ibrahim and Arshad told the court that the prosecution witnesses had retracted their statements and the police report had also declared the accused innocent. The court reviewed the whole record and ordered to release the three accused over lack of evidence.

Earlier the police had declared three suspects including the main accused of the Kasur video scandal innocent.

Police submitted final challan on four FIRs of the Kasur scandal in the special Anti-Terrorism Court. Police had said in the challan that the main suspects were not guilty of rape or extortion. The challan, however, said that the suspects were guilty of threatening people.
