The Punjab Government on Saturday approved an education package for the children working at brick kilns.

The package, which was approved at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif through video link, envisages monthly scholarship for the children, besides free of charge provision of stationery, books and uniform.

The Chief Minister said the parents would be given Rs 2,000 for sending their children to schools whereas the children, who would go to school during the current academic session, would also receive Rs 1,000 each.

Shehbaz Sharif said eliminating child labour at brick kilns was his mission. The kiln owners, who violated labour laws, would not only be sent to jail but their kilns would also be sealed.

  1. Please send this photo of this child to entire Parliament and Ban ki Moon Secretary General UN. And not to forget the overhead/underpass expert and his elder brother when he visits Pakistan.

  2. Punjab government desperately needs a similar education package for itself. It must go through primary lolitical education that teaches the dire need to spend money for the peoples basic requirements before doling out large amounts on yellow trainline project. It must learn to reform the mafia police and learn to be transparent and honest.
