IHC judge asks fellow judges to set good examples for masses

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb has said that judges are custodians of the rule of law and they should always behave in such a manner as people idolize them.

Presiding over the certificates distribution ceremony as chief guest at the conclusion of a one-week course on “Criminal Trial and Appreciation of Evidence” for Civil Judges –cum-Magistrates, at Federal Judicial Academy on Saturday, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb said that a judge both in his private and professional life should behave in a manner as to preserve the dignity of the office. The conduct of a judge must reaffirm the people’s faith in the integrity of the judiciary, he added.

He further said, “As judgeship is a sacred trust of Allah, therefore, we must understand and realize that there is no room for error. Our decisions, our judgments must speak and become our recognition as symbol of justice in the society. ”

Presenting his welcome speech and an overview of the training course, Director General (DG) of the Academy Mr. Fakhar Hayat said, “Trainings always improve performance and we expect better performance from the trainee judges in the field.”

The chief guest distributed certificates among 26 judges from across the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
