Opposition senators on Friday demanded an explanation from the government regarding the bullet-proof vehicle given to former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Farhatullah Babar raised the question about Chaudhry’s bullet-proof car, saying he is now the head of a political party and the government must inform the House in what capacity the bullet-proof car was given to the former CJP.
Explaining the position before the house, Minister Sheikh Aftab said that the bullet-proof car was provided to Iftikhar Chaudhyr on the SC’s order. He said that the expenditure of the car and its fuel are being borne by the Federal Law Division, adding that the government had challenged the decision in court.
