Ministry of Housing and Works informed the Senate on Friday about 83,000 registered federal government employees have been waiting to get housing facility.
In a written reply, the ministry said the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation(FGEHF) was striving hard to create housing opportunities for these members and as part of such efforts, it says sector F-14 and F-15 have been allocated for housing schemes for the federal government employees.
It adds the F-14 sector Islamabad was situated on prime location in the vicinity. On the other hand, a huge backlog of about 83,000 registered
Federal Government employees still persists for provision of housing facilities at the earliest.
These sectors were allocated for FG employees housing scheme after the approval and allocation of said sectors to Housing Foundation by prime minister in 2015.
For the acquisition of 10.629 kanals, the notification of section-4 was issued and the physical survey has not yet been done in order to determine the actual structures.
It said after the survey, the housing foundation will be in a position to declare legal structures. However, the satellite pictures of Sector F -14 and F -15 has been obtained in order to determine the built-up property by urban unit Lahore and recorded the built-up property according to GST technology and its total number is 187 till 22 June 2015.
