Ten medical stores have been sealed in different parts of the city for operating without pharmacist(s).
A few days ago, the Drug Court Lahore had ordered to seal all the medical stores which were being run without pharmacists. The judge had directed Punjab Chief Drug Inspector Dr Zakaur Rehman to take action against the medical stores being operated without pharmacist(s).
Following the orders of the judge, the drug inspectors conducted raids and sealed around ten medical stores, two in front of Jinnah Hospital, two in Lohari Gate and one near Lahore General Hospital.
A leader of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Association (PPA), Noor Mehar, appreciated the decision of the drug court and termed it a good step towards the right direction. He was of the view that this decision would help control the sale of spurious as well as unregistered medicines.
