Lahore Police on Wednesday forwarded a summary to the inspector general of Punjab Police about establishment of 17 new police stations and 15 check-posts near hospitals.
According to Deputy Inspector General Operations Haider Ashraf, crime rate is increasing in the city with the rise in population and more police stations are needed to curb criminal elements.
Through the summary, the City Police sought permission from the IGP and requested him for provision of space for the checkposts.
