Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has beefed up security of the educational institutions and other departments of the federal capital to avoid any untoward incident in the aftermath of a deadly terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda on Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad, Sajid Kiani said that there were no threats received by any educational institution in capital, however, police had made fool-proof security arrangements in capital in wake of the heinous incident of Charsadda, he added.
He said that three police check posts have been established besides increase in patrolling on routes of various schools, colleges and universities in the federal capital.
The SSP said Station House Officers (SHOs) of every police station have visited the schools and colleges in their respective jurisdictions to review the security arrangements.
The training of guards at educational institutions was also being ensured; he said adding that the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) were in contact with all schools, colleges and universities regarding their security arrangements.
Police have launched search operations in surrounding areas of different educational institutions to have check on suspects, he added.
