The FIA had previously arrested three suspects — Khalid Shamim, Mohsin Ali Syed and Moazzam Ali — for their alleged role in Dr Farooq’s murder. According to sources, Shamim has confessed to the murder, alleging that he received orders from MQM leader Muhammad Anwar in London to assassinate Dr Farooq.
But on Thursday, as he was being escorted out of court by police personnel, Shamim pleaded for the public’s help, saying that he wants to take the case to the International Court of Justice.
“I know that Altaf Hussain, Mohammad Anwar and accomplices are being helped by MI6, RAW and the CIA,” he said. “I need help. I want to take this case to the International Court of Justice.”
