National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday expressed resentment over ministers not attending sessions of the assembly, and ordered that their salaries be deducted and instead be used for assembly expenses.
According to details, an assembly session was scheduled today during which the speaker halted the proceedings for a few minutes due to the absence of many representatives and summoned them to the main hall.
The speaker was angry over the issue and said that the salaries of the absent MNAs should be deducted. He also said that in case of continuous violation, the prime minister will be informed in this regard.
He said that if ministers continued to remain absent they could also be suspended.
Earlier, Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed, while protesting the absence of many ministers, walked out of the National Assembly during the session.
According to details, Sheikh Rasheed came out of the assembly and said that he has not seen such an irresponsible assembly. He said that only 10 members out of the 342 were present in the session, which is a shame for the MNAs.
