Former Pakistani ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani on Tuesday said he doesn’t know what Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is accusing him of.

In a tweet, Haqqani said Pakistan acquired F-16s from the United States when he was the Pakistani ambassador to the US.

  1. I was just going to refer to Hussain Haqqani as a gentleman, but realized just before committing the grave error. After all, referring to him as a gentleman would have been an unforgivable mistake and a great travesty of justice.

The man seems to be suffering from lapses of memory. However, what is odd is that he seems to remember events of distant past – like he remembers that it was during his tenure as Pakistan’s ambassador to the US that Pakistan managed to secure some F-16s.

However, very conveniently, he seems to have forgotten that recently, he had advised the US government not to give F-16s to Pakistan because, according to him, these will not be used against terrorists but against India.

And with that, campaigning along with India to attempt to block F-16s delivery to Pakistan would be logical next step.
So, I can’t understand what Hussain Haqqani is now making all this fuss about.

    • There are more flaws in him but those are character related. For example he lacks integrity and dignity to such an extent that he left Pakistan as soon as Ifitikhar Chaudhry the erstwhile Chief Justice of this unfortunate country, let him off, but left his wife behind in the President House! Iftikhar Chaudhery also proved no less a character and has opened a political party. Harry Truman and another noted figure has commented ” every scoundral’s last refuge is politics.”
